Basements are identical to dark and damp spaces. Heaven knows why children call your basements as a monster lair. But now you do not have to worry as we have some ideas for your basements, should you feel the need for remodeling. We believe, with creativity, those dark and damp spaces can be the best room in your house.
First, if you love entertainment, you can design your basement into your very own stage. Place your music instrument on one side of the room; a piano, for instance. Then, across of your piano, you can set up a wide white screen on the wall. If you have a projector and an audio-video system, you can have your own home theater. If it is not a home theater, it can play as your own stage play. Your children will always eager to play a little drama for you, parents. Do not forget to set up a seating area across the screen. Arrange carefully the lighting fixtures on the room. An entertainment room will do well with ceiling fixtures above the source of the entertainment. And if you are a wine collector, you can set up a cabinetry where you can store all of your wine.
Second, your basement can be an alternative playroom for your children. It will be the best solution to overcome the unreasonable fear over the “monster’s lair”. On the wall, you can set up a cubical storage of which colours are a combination of vibrant and pastel colours. The vibrant colours, such as orange and yellow, will help lit up your basement, so it is no longer dark. In each cubic, you can store your children’s most favourite stuffed toy and figurines. Cover the floor with carpet to create a soft pad for your children’s still fragile feet.
Those are some of many ideas for your basement remodeling. They do not have to be dark and damp spaces, or worst “monster lairs” for your children. They can be your coziest rooms for entertainment or playrooms for your children.
